Success Flows
How do successful entrepreneurs seem to create success after success easily?

Michael Gerber author of The E-Myth talks about everyones' three business personalities, the technician who is the doer, the manager who is the organiser and the entrepreneur who is the visionary person. For a small business to succeed, you need a balance of these three personalities either in the business owner or other people, however, with the entrepreneurial personality leading.

The Entrepreneural personality is distinctly different from the manager and the technician, because it works on the business rather than in it!

Actually it isn't just true for small businesses, it's true for larger businesses including corporates. In my experience leadership in many organisations is often more managerial than entrepreneurial, and that type of leadership is responsible for much of the burn-out that we see, not only in small businesses but in the corporate world too.

So often, teams and business leaders are running around frantically 'doing' and and rarely if ever, being given the opportunity to think and make good strategic decisions for their business.

Instead, how about taking the time to discover which 20% of what's being done is delivering 80% of the results? What about taking the time to effectively build business and brand value so that selling becomes easier and customer loyalty becomes stronger?

Working on your business or brand rather than in it means literally standing back and observing your business or brand as a system, with inter-relationships between it's various parts. It means getting the system that makes up your business, working effectively.

The outcome is a functional business that can flourish because it flows smoothly. In this kind of entrepreneurial environment success is the natural result!
